Authentic Colombian food distribution needed real infrastructure — cold chain, compliance, and direct producer relationships. So we built it.
Our Story
Born from a shortage. Built into a corridor.
SaborCol began with a shortage. When the pandemic hit in 2020, distributors across Texas ran out of Colombian product — and the restaurants that depended on it were left with empty kitchens.
Ricardo, our founder, ran his own restaurants and faced the same wall. So he stopped waiting and went straight to the source: the direct importers in Florida. He started bringing product north for his own kitchens — and word spread fast. Other Colombian restaurant owners, hit by the same shortage, began asking him to bring product for them too.
What started as a favor between fellow restaurateurs quickly became something bigger. Ricardo saw what the community really needed: a reliable bridge for authentic Colombian product into the United States. That need became SaborCol.
Today SaborCol operates as two legal entities — SaborCol Import LLC and Distribuidora SaborCol LLC — moving 50+ Colombian and Latin brands to supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and bakeries across the U.S., with full cold chain and federal compliance from port to shelf.

SaborCol is a U.S.-based importer and distributor. We move 50+ leading Colombian and Latin brands to retailers, restaurants, and distributors nationwide — and produce two of our own: SaborCol frozen foods (empanadas, arepas, pandebono, natilla, 64 oz fruit pulps) and Del Campo Colombiano frozen produce (papa criolla, yuca, sancocho essentials).

For us, Alimentec is where the corridor begins: meeting producers face to face, evaluating new Colombian brands, and confirming cold-chain and packaging standards before a single case ships to the United States. The brands and SKUs we discover here become tomorrow's catalog for American buyers.
